Snowstorm 2006

Winter Snowstorm Sunday Feb. 5th 2006

This particular snowfall started off just like any other fall of snow, however when we awoke the next day it was around a foot deep, 6 inches would still have been a good fall of snow, so there was a bit of a difference with this one! It certainly went on to prove this was different, with another foot of snow to clear away on day two. The video also shows how our two cats Nemo and Mika felt about all this huge amount of snow; "please let me in quick"!, not really their scene. The Hydro power went off on day two and was off for two and a half days; no electricity meant no water for toilets etc. On day three we awoke to a total of some 4 feet of snow; several of our evergreen trees were broken over, with the weight of the snow and one lovely evergreen tree had been uprooted. This video gives viwers a taste of a typical Canadian winter and shows just how harsh the snowy conditions can be.
